Between the first Pinot Noir in amphora and the first glimpse of Sergio Valentino, born on November 19, ther’s a handful of months that the world will remember with an unforgettable number, 2020. On the hills of the Marchisio Family, he is celebrated like an alien visitor who finally leaves, not without having left behind his strange wonders, the gifts that flourish on the hardest of days. It fills one with pride, for example, the “medal” awarded by Decanter to the sublime Valmaggiore, another family primate: from the renowned sandy vineyard of Vezza d’Alba, the first Nebbiolo vinified and aged in amphora, bottled with its revolutionary screw cap.
And that’s not all: the special Arneis is even from 2020, also created in the “belly” of ceramic containers. The umpteenth challenge: to make it last a long time, thanks to the unsurpassed magic that lies at the origin of the wine, born in the Caucasus in the ancestral clay. It’s with these emotions that the Marchisio Family welcomes the new year, renewing her most solemn commitment, both organic and biodynamic: to pamper the earth, with the help of Steiner’s science, so that it comes to terms with the sky and grows again, recovering the fertility of the soil. The great wines, then, are only a natural consequence. A promise, that every year ends up in the glass to warm our heart.
